Chad rated it it was ok Dec 07, User Review – Flag as inappropriate the book contains most of the material needed for any graduate equilibrium stat physic’s class, it is however almost useless to learn the material if you haven’t got someone to explain it to you.
The chapter devoted to the renormalization group approach is largely rewritten and includes a detailed discussion of the basic concepts and examples of both exact and approximate calculations. The authors discuss a range of topics from ferromagnetism to quantum fluids, and there is even a good physica on computer simulations.
