Surely colonization is a betrayal of those values, not an expression of them? In other cases, not only is language pure, correct, and not abused, reality itself is warped.

I’m not sure Hazan allows for the possibility of people who actually believe in a thing, who are not operating cynically, either on the left or on the right.

Second, I think there is a big difference between pointing out where the language of values has been abused or misappropriated and claiming that values in and of themselves are either non-existant, inherently oppressive, or both.
